Cinabar ... Diner "IN" a Movie
We are in Asheville, NC and since it is Sunday and almost everything is closed and it is raining we decided to go to a movie. Directly down the road from is a Cinabar. Yes, a Cinema where you can sit and watch a movie and order food (burgers, sandwiches and pizza) and order drinks (pop, wine, beer). They even serve popcorn that you order during the movie and it is served in a silver bowl. David ordered a Hawian pizza and Robin spinach-mushroom (can you believe that ... a "spinach-mushroom" pizza at a movie ... David wouldn't order that at a spinach-mushroom restaurant). The only problem with the process is that the theater is somewhat dark. A lady sat next to us and ordered a silver bowl of popcorn. We got one bill for our pizza and pop and her popcorn. David wouldn't have minded paying for the popcorn but the lady ate about two handfuls. David sat and watched the whole movie with the bowl of popcorn right in front of him. If he had known he was going to be charged for it he would have ate it, as well. Never-the-less it was a great time. The food was great. Prices were high ($10.00 per pizza, $4.00 for a diet, and $5.00 for the popcorn we didn't eat). Oh, and the movie was really good ... The Proposal. Highly recommend it. But, if you go to the Cinabar make sure you know who is paying for what.

I was wondering about the "distraction" of the waitresses walking around serving food. For goodness sake, we can't even 'look at the time' on our cellphones at the carousel, because it 'distracts' the other movie watchers.....
Actually, they leave a few lights on very dim and you place your order on a card, put it in a stand and the waitress comes to get it when she/he sees the card in the stand. It actually has more room than other theaters. They take a row out and put a small counter in front of you. One counter is as long as four chairs. That's why the ladies popcorn got on our bill. They thought she was seating with us. There was actually very little distractions. And, I checked my text and email messages three times. :)))
