You can only take so much ...
Well, we left Grants, NM today headed for Flagstaff. It is a 250+ mile ride but we left plenty early forgetting the night before we had gained an hour (we gained then another hour coming into Arizona ... how many hours does one couple need in a day?). We crossed the Continental Divide and had no idea what that meant. We both wish we had paid more attention during fifth grade geography. No, we are not smarter than a 5th grader. When it said a continental divide Robin was prepared for a bridge and David for breakfast. But, the scenery went from a 8 to a 10+++. We stopped at National Petrified Forest (there are no trees so we are not sure about why it is called a forest ... go ask a 5th grader). It was simply put, marvelous. On our iPod the song "How Great is Our God" came on just as we were touring the place. Well played Apple!! The place was really great and then it got better when David spotted an Antelope resting in the shade of a rock formation. He kept telling Robin to take a picture and she was, but in the wrong direction. The reason? There were actually four antelope and she was taking the picture of one and David was looking at another. We posted a few of the pictures. If you click on the pictures you can see the antelope. We got him/her (go ask a 5th grader on how to tell) to move by revving up the Harley pipes. (We had so many pictures we will post them separately.) We had another dry and great day however. And, how lucky is this: After checking into our hotel there is Barnes and Noble with a Starbucks right behind the hotel and the restaurant Robin wanted to eat at was two blocks away. Just how much good can one couple take ....
