Short Blog - Big Vegas

We have had a big day that started early and will end late. Suffice it to say that Vegas is really big. We wouldn't really want to stay more than a day but the hotel room our daughter and son-in-law Tiffany and Jeremy got us at the Venitian is absolutely wonderful. I think we could spend a week in the hotel and not see everything. We are leaving in a moment to see the Blue Man Group and that is the highlight of Vegas for us. We haven't and probably won't bet anything. We thought Vegas looks like it needs the money and we shouldn't take it with us. With 115 degree temperatures they need as much money as they can for air conditioning. But, we do know how they get all their energy. We went over the Hoover Dame today and it was absolutely marvelous. By the way, David's idea of a fly over in helicopter of the Grand Canyon? It was $285.00 per person. So, we missed it but saw some great scenery coming up to Vegas from Kingman. The good news is there was no gas station during that run and the bike went farther than it ever did without needing gas (185 miles ... Thank goodness for the 2008 six gallon gas tank). The pictures are of the mountains before Vegas, the Dame, the Harley Cafe in Vegas we had lunch at and our room. We are leaving tomorrow for Mojave, California - 235 miles but have to leave at 6:00 a.m. to beat the 115 degree heat in the Mojave Desert.

I am SOOOO Jealous of you guys!! You are getting to see so much cool stuff!!! 115 degrees?? Can you get AC installed on your bike??

Dan and I are thinking of taking a bike trip for my last week of vacation. I have no idea where we will go, but I don't think we could make it to Cali and back in 1 week :)

Go up north and meet us somewhere in the U.P.

The Blue Men Group last night was AWESOME!!

It is 5:30 a.m. on Friday and it is already 85 degrees. So, the desert is going to be HOT!
